Hey… this is Squeaky Dude. This isn't a joke. It's something that just happened with me and my roommate. I really wanted to share this with you all, so I hope it's encouraging!!!

Last Night, January 11, 2007 I arrived home from work around 9:30 pm. As I walked in the door my roommate, Dave Townsend was talking on the phone with his girlfriend. It was only a few minutes and he finished the conversation with her and we sat down on the couches. With a smile on his face, Dave says, "I almost died tonight." I said, "Again???" Dave replied, "Yes, Again." During Christmas Dave and his girlfriend had been rear ended by a car that was traveling 70 miles an hour. Their cars were totaled, but they walked away with only minor back and neck pain.

Ok, so tonight when Dave told me He almost died... I quickly asked what time was this? He said around 6:00-6:15 pm. He was right around Monticello, MN on his way back from work. Immediately Dave asked, "Why??? Were you praying for me?" So I say... Dave I don't usually get breaks at work because I'm only working part-time. But, As I was working (driving around on my little stand-up cart picking parts at Caterpillar) I thought, Man... I haven't prayed for my roommate Dave lately. So, I decided to go out to my car for a 10 minute prayer session. I checked the clock as I went out the door and it was 6:06 pm, which meant I wanted to be back to work around 6:16pm. I jumped in my car, turned on the heat (brrr it was cold), reclined my seat and prayed for Dave first and then I proceeded to pray for my close friends and family.

Back to Dave's story... Between 6:00 and 6:15 pm last night, Dave really did almost die. Dave was right around Monticello, MN traveling 80 mph when he spotted a 12 foot long, 4 foot wide cement, half-cylinder object straddling across the driving lanes of Interstate 94. Two cars in front of Dave swerved to miss the cement object. The Doge neon ended up t-boning the car in front of Dave... At that same moment Dave went into his first swerve to miss the Neon and the cement object. He said on the first swerve to the right, all four tires lost traction and His jeep was sliding completely sideways. Then his jeep was thrown back to the left, again completely sideways and again all four tires lost contact with the road as if they were hydro-planing... keeping Dave from rolling over. He progressed to swerve three more times, much less drastic that the first two serves until he missed just missed the cement barrier and the Dodge Neon that t-boned the car right it front of him. Dave's car didn't receive a scratch. Neither did Dave. Dave says, Man... "I think God must have posted Angles on each of my tires because I should have rolled." As Dave and I traced the time at which the accident occurred we concluded that I would have been praying for Dave either right before or maybe, just maybe when it was happening.

Dave and I are sharing this story, not because we are super spiritual... we are not even close!!! Yuck!!! We are sharing because we want to encourage you to be praying for your friends and family, and also those who Don't know Jesus Christ as a real person who came and gave His life for us, so that we might also have life now and be raised to eternal life later. One of the weapons Jesus gave us is Prayer! Prayer can seem difficult and it can be a lot of work when you don't see the results immediately. But, the battle against evil in this world and the protection of our family and friends is won by prayer! Please be encouraged that God is alive and working for the good of those who love Him. God hears our prayers. As you pray, believe in Faith. Don't have faith in circumstances, because circumstances change. Have faith in a God who doesn't change. Please be encouraged not to hesitate when God prompts you to pray for others.

There AINT no body who can mess with Jesus Christ. He suffered, bled, died and was buried and then OVERCAME death so that we might have life! Ask for anything in HIS name (Jesus Christ) and it will be given to you, if you ask according to His will. That was my own translation of a couple bible verses :-)
